CIRCLE SOAPS answers the most frequently asked questions as follows:
WHAT DOES COLD PROCESS MEAN?
Cold Process soapmaking is a way of mixing oils (olive, sunflower, coconut, shea) with an alkali (lye). The result is a chemical process called saponification, where the composition of the oils change with the help of the lye to create a bar of soap. This process involves a 4-6 week curing time so some patience is needed! Once the soap is fully cured, there won't be any lye remaining.
WHY ARE CIRCLE SOAPS SQUARE?
The name ''Circle'' represents a life-cycle rather than the shape of the soap. As all ingredients come from the ground or a plant and will return to the earth once the soap has been used, they complete a full circle.
HOW LONG WILL MY SOAP LAST?
Hopefully not very long if you enjoy using it! To help your soap last longer, store in a well draining soap dish so it can dry in between uses. Although the soap will be fine to use for much longer, it is best to use within 6 months as the natural scents / colours can fade over time.
ARE ALL YOUR SOAPS VEGAN?
Yes. They are all 100% vegan and always will be! We don't yet have the vegan certification just because it is not economically viable for our small business.
ARE YOU QUALIFIED TO MAKE SOAPS?
Emma completed a course in England to learn the essentials of soap making as well as laws and regulations. All of our soap recipes have been approved by a qualified chemist and are certified safe for sale.
ARE ALL YOUR SOAPS ORGANIC?
All ingredients used in the soaps are completely organic where possible. For example, water and clays are naturally derived ingredients rather than grown and therefore, cannot be classified as organic. For now, the certification is too expensive for a small business but every single ingredient used that can be classified as organic, is.
ARE YOUR SOAPS TESTED ON ANIMALS?
No! The only animals tested on are us!
ARE YOUR SOAPS SUITABLE FOR BABIES?
The Minimalist is the most gentle of our soaps as it does not contain any essential oils.
